Trump, Turnberry and FOI
Here's an interesting story from The Guardian on the use of Glasgow Prestwick Airport to prop up Donald Trump's ailing Turnberry golf resort - and the efforts of Scottish government officials to withhold details of what's been going on by heavily censoring documents released under freedom of information (FoI) legislation.
Prestwick was owned by the Scottish govt and was a U.S. defense contractor during the relevant period. Guardian says Prestwick struck a deal with Trump Turnberry to offer discounted rooms to air crews and, for U.S. personnel, free rounds of golf. /2 https://t.co/nmEBd51yS7— Walter Shaub (@waltshaub) September 7, 2019
