Glasgow Payments and PayFest 2019

An individual email has been sent to all A4ES clients in Glasgow with the following message from Stefan Cross.

PayFest is a one-off event and it will be great to see so many Claimants in the same place at the same time - in a friendly, relaxed social setting.

Look forward to seeing you at The Barrowlands (7.30pm) on Saturday 6th July 2019!

Payments to Glasgow Claimants

So the good news is that settlement payments to Glasgow Claimants are finally getting underway this week (more details on my Facebook page) and in the days ahead people will receive real money in their bank accounts.

Many A4ES clients have been in touch to say what a big difference these settlements will make to their lives and it's gratifying to hear the Glasgow Claimants are happy at what we achieved together, especially after such a long hard fight which lasted longer than any of us expected.

Glasgow's Big Equal Pay Party - PayFest

I hope you’re now ready to party and can join me at 'PayFest 2019' at The Barrowlands on Saturday 6th July. I’m dressing up especially.

A4ES is meeting all the costs of putting on PayFest and all of the proceeds from tickets sales will go towards a lasting tribute to Glasgow's history making equal pay dispute.

PayFest is a one-off event and it's the chance of a lifetime to meet other Claimants in person and say a big 'Thank You' for the support and determination you have shown over the years.

My A4ES colleagues (Mark Irvine and Karl Bromley) will be at The Barrowlands as well for what promises to be a very special evening for the Claimants along with their families, friends and supporters.

I do hope you will be able to join us because would be great to have a photo taken on the night as a memento and reminder of just how far we've come since the fight for equal pay in Glasgow began back in 2005.

If you haven't done so already, you can reserve PayFest tickets by dropping Mark an email to: markirvine@compuserve.com

Looking ahead

In the meantime our work in Glasgow will continue until the Council's 'unfit for purpose' WPBR has been replaced by new, non-discriminatory pay arrangements which will happen once a new job evaluation scheme (JES) has been agreed.

The introduction of a new JES and new pay arrangements will trigger a further equal pay claim on behalf A4ES clients, but this will not happen until 2021 so please keep in touch and advise us of any change in your circumstances.

With very best wishes

Stefan Cross
