Scotland's 'Pretendy Parliament'

The SNP is under fire for announcing a new health initiative at its annual conference instead of doing so in the Scottish Parliament where its plans can be debated and scrutinised by MSPs.
Swinney & Co have form in this area, for example when Humza Yousaf and Derek Mackay (remember those two wallopers) used an SNP conference to announce ministers were taking the shipbuilder Ferguson Marine into public ownership.
The result of that initiative was two 'ghost ferries' which are ten years late and cost £800 millions of public money - with one of the two ferries still not entered into service.

Now that is treating the Scottish Parliament with contempt and that's why in many people's eyes Holyrood has become what Billy Connolly famously warned us about - a 'Pretendy Parliament' full of jobsworths and party hacks.
