Palestinian recognition not the final ...

John Swinney invited Husam Zomlot, head of the Palestinian Mission in the UK, to address the SNP conference in Aberdeen at the weekend.

Zomlot has repeatedly refused to condemn the terrorist atrocities committed by Palestinian fanatics on October 7 2023 which triggered the terrible war in Gaza which looks now to be coming to an end.

Let's hope the ceasefire in Gaza holds and that prospects for a wider peace in the Middle East continue to improve under the agreement brokered by President Trump.  

For this to happen Palestinians need to renounce terrorism, disavow any further October 7 attacks and recognise Israel's right to exist within its own secure borders.

Meanwhile politicians in the UK have a duty to call out the hate marchers who deny Israel's right to exist and call for the Jewish homeland of Israel to be swept into the sea - by any means necessary.

If Swinney can't do this, he is no more than a useful idiot.

Here's an astonishing email which has been sent to the 'Council Family' at Glasgow City Council by the council's chief executive Annemarie O'Donnell. Now I'm not part of the 'Council Family' but if I were, I'd be absolutely furious at the way the council's top boss has quietly glossed over her own role in creating Glasgow's ALEOs back in 2007 - and the fact that one of the main purposes for these arm's length companies was to try and assist the City Council to wriggle out of its obligations over equal pay.  Once the ALEOs were in place, senior and very highly paid officials argued that they were completely independent and separate employers from Glasgow City Council. So, in their eyes of these senior officials, equal pay claimants could no longer compare their earnings with the much higher pay of Council employees outside of their own ALEO, Cordia being the prime example.
