Sunday Post
A number of readers from South Lanarkshire have been in touch - over an article in last weekend's Sunday Post.
The newspaper ran a story highlighting the huge sums of money paid by councils - to external lawyers - much of which has been spent resisting equal pay claims from low paid council workers.
Millions of pounds in fact - all of it public money - being paid to some of the most prestigious and expensive law firms in Scotland.
With charges running to any eye watering £400 an hour - apparently.
South Lanarkshire Council receives a mention, of course - having racked up £125,881 in external legal costs - along with lots of other councils who claim they have little, if any, money to spare.
