Scotland's Ministerial Code - Corrupt and Corrupting

The Scottish Parliament and Scotland's body politic is being made to look absurd over iPadGate and Humza Yousaf's role as both 'judge and jury' over the conduct of fellow government ministers.

Put plainly - the system is corrupt and corrupting.

Quelle Surprise - Scotland's Ministerial Code (June 23, 2023)

Well - knock me down with a feather!

Humza Yousaf has concluded that Jenny Gilruth, one of Nicola Sturgeon's greatest admirers, did not break the ministerial code.

The First Minister arrived at this conclusion after taking no independent advice and consulting only himself.

Ministerial Code - Holyrood vs Westminster (May 29, 2023)

So Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has decided not to launch a formal investigation into his Home Secretary's conduct after consulting with his independent ethics adviser.

Meanwhile in Scotland Humza Yousaf doesn't have an independent ethics adviser - because the First Minister is judge and jury when it comes to the behaviour of his fellow ministers.

I've had a response from Humza Yousaf to my complaint about Patrick Harvie which I'll share in the next day or so.
