Calling Glasgow!

I know there are lots of people out there who have been with A4ES from the start of the long fight for equal pay which began in August 2005.

I am working with a TV journalist who's keen to speak to people who registered their claims early on in Glasgow's fight and refused to be bullied into accepting the Council's 'low ball' offers of settlement in the run up to Christmas 2005.

I'm sure people remember the big 'acceptance meetings' attended by senior council managers and hand-picked lawyers (paid for by the Council) where thousands of low paid workers were encouraged to sign their rights away - for a maximum settlement of just £9,000.

The aim is to make a programme which includes this part of the story and how Claimants felt at the time, given the awful scare tactics employed by the Council.

So if you are one of the Glasgow Claimants who 'stood their ground', stayed the course with A4ES and told the Council where to get off - drop me a note (in confidence, of course) to: markirvine@compuserve.com

Include a contact telephone number and I'll be in touch.
