Confected Outrage

Eddie Marsan didn't pull his punches after the Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn told The Guardian that he will consider investigating Cadbury's for "excessive profit-making" in the pricing of Freddos, their chocolate frogs:

"I think we need to examine this question in some detail and see if there is excessive profit-making by those who make Freddos – then they’ve got us to answer to."

When asked if there was a "secret Freddo tax" that only politicians knew about, Corbyn replied: "I think there is a very obvious motive: those that make Freddos know it’s popular, so they’re making a bit more money."

As far as I can tell, no one is being forced to purchase this little confectionery - in which case why not just stop buying them in the first place, if you think the price is too high?

Although the more serious political point being made is that with everything else that's going on in the world why is Jeremy Corbyn burbling on about a Freddo tax?

Well said Yvette a great response to BJ's speech. By the way, today Jeremy Corbyn talked about the price of Freddo's, Arsenal's transfer activity and wages in the premier league.
