Weasel Words
Jeremy Corbyn has been hoist on his own petard after party workers demanded seats on Labour's ruling National Executive Council (NEC).
Anonymous sources have been threatening a purge of staff at Labour HQ whom Corbyn supporters regard as disloyal to their Dear Leader which is hugely ironic since Jezza was a serial rebel in the Labour Party for 32 years.
In letter to Jeremy Corbyn union representatives said:
"We find it deeply distressing that we even have to ask you, as the leader of the Labour party, to support unionised workers.
"We also expect a message of solidarity and support for unionised Labour Party workers in the face of any attempts to 'purge' or 'clear-out' hard-working staff."
In response Mr Corbyn confirmed that there "no plans" for compulsory redundancies which sound like weasel words if you ask me.
