Stalin v Trotsky

The Labour MP for Ilford South, Mike Gapes, wrote the following post Twitter and I suspect he'll need to retain his sense of political irony if he is to survive in Jeremy Corbyn's kinder, gentler Labour Party.

“Genuine question: is the appointment of an unreconstructed Stalinist rather than an engaging neo-Trotskyist a move to the right? Discuss.”

Certain people inside the Labour Party dismiss their critics out of hand as net-liberals which is code language for Conservative.

But Labour's opponents are now spoiled for choice with a whole host of labels including: Old Labour, New Labour, Blairites, Brownites, neo-Stalinists and ne-Trotskyists.

I suspect it won't be long before they're all at each others's throats.
