 I had a great laugh at this spoof Reuters report in Private Eye, the UK's best and only fortnightly satirical magazine.
PISTORIUS 'OUT LIKE A SHOT'

 There was widespread joy throughout South Africa after Oscar Pistorius smacked the world record for getting out of jail after killing a girlfriend.

 "Oscar's time inside of just one year obliterates the previous record. This is a real shot in the arm, in the abdomen and in the face for South African sport," said his agent. "No one expected Oscar to get out quite this fast. He has a criminal record that'll be hard to beat."

 Pistorius defended the decision to release him from prison, pointing out that he would be under house arrest.

 "How much trouble can I get into at home?" he said. It's not as if I have a history of causing mayhem within these four walls."

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer. So here's a list of activities which will help shine a light on what has been going on because as Lord Nolan once said apropos driving up standards in public life - 'daylight is the best disinfectant'.
