Spanners, Scunnered and By-Elections

I don't have a vote in the Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse by-election, but who in their right mind would not like to see a political earthquake on Thursday?

We have a First Minister in John Swinney who can't tell us what a woman is (even though he's married to one) and a governing party in the SNP who have wasted £750 million on two ferries which could have been built in Turkey for a fraction of that cost.

Meanwhile the Labour opposition is not much better and though Scottish Labour have been out of power for almost 20 years Anas Sarwar shows little sign of setting the political heather on fire.

Scunnered? Me!

So the temptation to throw a great big spanner in the works must be tempting to most voters.
