According to a recent Savanta opinion poll Glasgow's SNP MSPs are all likely to lose their seats at the next Holyrood election - including Humza Yousaf and Nicola Sturgeon. Now there's a long way to go, but this would be a good thing in my view because SNP politicians have been woeful at standing up for Glasgow and have had nothing to say about how badly run down the city has become in recent years.    SNP - Glasgow Branch Found Wanting ( July 11, 2021 ) The SNP group in Glasgow City Council have consistently refused to rock the boat with Scottish Ministers over local government spending - yet the SNP can find plenty of money for other cockamamy schemes such as abolishing the council tax for under 22-year-olds.  Meanwhile Glasgow's constituency MSPs (all SNP) have been as quiet as wee church mice during the ongoing fight for equal pay - leaving council tax payers in Glasgow to pick up the bill without any financial help from the Scottish Government.   Glasgow MSPs - The Qui

Israeli teenager visciously assaulted outside her school for being Jewish. Shaked Tsurkan, an Israeli girl attending a high school in New Brunswick, Canada was assaulted from behind by an older Muslim student. The assault came after the teenager was subjected to months of… pic.twitter.com/cYQTkrvGhe — Oli London (@OliLondonTV) May 15, 2024 Astonishing video of an unprovoked, violent attack on a young Jewish girl, Shaked Tsurkan, while older kids stand around recording the assault laughing and making wisecracks. A bearded adult wanders into view, but does not intervene to pull the attacker off - instead he remonstrates with the victim. Shaked says she was attacked because she is Israeli and that her assailant is an older female Muslim student who was suspended for a week by her school, but not charged with a crime - never mind a hate crime. The attacker wearing a pink 'hoodie' (apparently to cover her hijab) climbs into a car and is driven away.

Hot on the heels of the self-inflicted 'housing emergency', 'drug deaths emergency' and 'NHS waiting times emergency' comes another SNP emergency which requires 500 prisoners to be released early from prison - due to overcrowding, allegedly. Never mind the risk to the public of course! Especially as the need for more prison spaces has been known to SNP ministers for years - a replacement for Glasgow's Barlinnie prison, for example, is over budget and long overdue.

I was out for dinner recently in a very nice Glasgow restaurant with individual 'gender neutral' bathrooms, but as usual a previous male user had peed all over the toilet seat and bathroom floor. Same thing happens all the time in pubs and bars, of course.    

Eddie Izzard's daftie idea about getting rid of urinals and having unisex toilets would punish women for the gross behaviour of manky men and teenage boys. As for his suggestion about schools - I can't imagine young teenage girls (and their parents) being anything other than completely grossed out!   Single Sex Spaces vs Unisex Toilets ( May 22, 2023 ) Not all men's toilets are as bad as 'the worst toilet in Scotland' featured in in this clip from 'Trainspotting' - but there's no doubt that unisex rest rooms, in general, are a backward step for women and girls.
