Glasgow Diary

Glasgow's 'Black Lives Matter' protest was a largely jolly affair with lots of predominantly young people gathering in Glasgow Green despite warnings from the politicians to stay home.

Most of the people I saw were wearing face masks and apparently no fines were issued with only two people being arrested.

The only trouble I witnessed involved two young men who appeared to be very drunk and got into a 'rammy' with a neighbour who rightly objected to one of them urinating in public - a public order offence, of course, as well as being disgusting.

But instead of apologising for his oafish behaviour the culprit challenged the neighbour to fight and also accused him of racism, for issuing his well-deserved rebuke.

Now that takes some brass neck if you ask me, while having the added misfortune of being completely untrue.
