Big Night Out

Last Saturday's 'Big Night Out' went so well that we are planning another one this evening with the emphasis on Spain and Tapas style food. 

Here are some of the photos and the evening's menu from last week.

To Start
Spicy Prawn cocktail served on a bed of shredded lettuce served with 
“Pan con Tomate” (tomato bread from Catalonia)


Lemon sole with a “beurre blanc” sauce
Thick cut Sirloin steak

Served with
Mashed potatoes with rosemary
Asparagus spears
Purple sprouting broccoli

Plums baked in white wine, muscovado sugar, star anise and cinnamon with Mackies traditional vanilla ice cream

To Finish 
Carajillos with a splash of anĂ­s or cognac

Big Night Out! (04/04/20)

So the big news story today is that our household (my wife and I) have decided that we're going to have a big night out tonight.

By which we really mean we're going to have a big 'lockdown' night in! 

The plan is to cook some of our favourite foods, put on some good music (bound to cause a fight) and enjoy a nice glass of wine or two, as well as dressing up a bit instead of  just lounging around in casual lockdown clothes.

In other words, we will make-believe we're actually out on the town for the evening - and if all goes well, a photo or two might follow in the days ahead.
