In Loving Memory - Ollie Barr

Glasgow's March and Rally for Equal Pay held a minute's silence for all the claimants who have passed away since this long-running dispute began back in 2006/07.

Here's a Facebook post from Stefan Cross which Remembers another Glasgow claimant and is a timely reminder that while most of the equal pay claimants are women, lots of male workers have been involved in the fight for equal pay as well.

Ollie Barr was a Special Needs Driver with Glasgow City Council for over 30 years.

I remember this group of claimants very well from meetings held in the Ashfield Club in the early days of the A4ES equal pay campaign.

RIP OLLIE BARR

It’s not only women we’ve lost.

Meet Ollie.

He was a special needs driver for over 30 years for Glasgow City until he retired he was 71 years old wife to Betty his family was his life. 1 daughter Gillian 1 son Derek and 4 grandchildren

The claim not only affects his loss, but his pension loss and his widows pension.

All still waiting.
