Great American Asshole (2)

For probably the first time in his adult life, Donald Trump says he doesn't want to be the centre of attention, as he tries desperately to deflect from his appalling show of support for the far-right 'Britain First' party.

In this Tweet to the UK Prime Minister, Theresa May, Trump is telling his granny how to suck eggs which just goes to show what a buffoon and ignoramus the man is and how dangerous this 'age of unreason' is becoming.

., don’t focus on me, focus on the destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom. We are doing just fine!

Trump's demagoguery, his disrespect for democracy, his inability to accept criticism from the media or political rivals is taking the American people down a very dangerous path.

Great American Asshole (30/11/17)

Donald Trump really should really become know henceforth as the 'Great American Asshole' after his latest batshit crazy tweets aimed at boosting the profile and fortunes of Britain First - a racist and fascist on the far-right fringe of UK politics.

Presumably Trump liked the Britain First slogan which mirrors this own 'America First' rallying cry which Team Trump used throughout the presidential election.

But the problem for Trump is that a member of Britain First (Thomas Mair) attacked and brutally murdered Jo Cox, a bright young MP with a husband and two children and a promising career ahead of her as an elected member of the UK Parliament.

So what does Donald Trump think he's doing by re-tweeting posts from the deputy leader of this vile group, Jayda Fransen, who was recently convicted of an anti-Muslim hate crime?

Donald Trump has retweeted three inflammatory videos from a British far-right group.

The first tweet from Jayda Fransen, the deputy leader of Britain First, claims to show a Muslim migrant attacking a man on crutches.

This was followed by two more videos of people Ms Fransen claims to be Muslim.

Responding to Mr Trump's posts, UK Prime Minister Theresa May's official spokesman said it was "wrong for the president to have done this".

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said Mrs May and other world leaders knew that "these are real threats that we have to talk about".

"Whether it's a real video, the threat is real," she said.

"I think it's important to talk about national security and national security threats. The president sees different things to be national security threats, and he sees having strong borders as being one of the things that helps protect people in this country from some real threats that we face."

Britain First was founded in 2011 by former members of the far-right British National Party (BNP).

The group has grabbed attention on social media with controversial posts about what they deem "the Islamification of the UK".
It has put up members to run in European elections and by-elections on anti-immigration and anti-abortion policies, but has not secured any seats.

It also contested the most recent London mayoral election, receiving 1.2% of the vote.

The original video was shared by US conservative commentator Ann Coulter who Mr Trump follows.

Ms Fransen has more than 52,000 followers on Twitter.

She responded enthusiastically to Mr Trump sharing her tweets. She posted on her account: "Donald Trump himself has retweeted these videos and has around 44 million followers!"

"God bless you Trump! God bless America!" she added. The message was also shared on Britain First's Twitter account.

Trump's warning

Analysis by Anthony Zurcher, BBC News North America Reporter

Donald Trump is once again using Twitter to weigh in on contentious religious-tinged political issues in the UK.

In the past, he's attacked London Mayor Sadiq Khan for mishandling a militant attack just hours after it occurred. He misattributed a rise in crime in England and Wales to the "spread of radical Islamic terror". Now, he has retweeted a series of unverified videos posted by a far-right British nationalist group.

For the president, directing attention toward the UK seems to serve a domestic political purpose.

He cites events and opinions there as a warning to Americans of what could happen in the US if they do not heed his policy prescriptions on immigration and border security. The Muslim ban, the US-Mexico wall, increased deportations, the sharp reductions on refugee resettlement - it's all part of the president's "national security" package.

While most Americans probably haven't heard of Britain First and are unfamiliar with European radical nationalist movements, there are white supremacist groups in the US that follow the actions of these overseas operations quite closely. The president on Wednesday signalled that he watches them too.

Earlier this month, Ms Fransen was charged with using "threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour" during speeches she made in Belfast.

She will appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Thursday 14 December.

Mr Trump's decision to retweet the videos met dismay on social media.

Brendan Cox, whose wife, British MP Jo Cox, was murdered by a right-wing extremist who shouted "Britain First" before committing the act, has condemned the action.

Trump has legitimised the far right in his own country, now he’s trying to do it in ours. Spreading hatred has consequences & the President should be ashamed of himself.

TV presenter and journalist Piers Morgan, who has called himself a "friend" of the president, tweeted: "What the hell are you doing?"

"Please STOP this madness & undo your retweets," he said.

Trump's America (21/08/17)

Another great cartoon making fun of Donald Trump after his toxic remarks about there being some 'fine people' on the recent match in Charlottesville by the KKK, white supremacists and Neo Nazis.

Trump's America (20/08/17)

Donald Trump is seems intent on destroying his already beleaguered presidency with ill-judged comments about there being some 'fine people' among the Ku Klux Klan, Neo Nazis and white supremacists who marched in Charlottesville the other day.

Ben Jennings 'nails it' with this great cartoon depicting Trump in a corner, tweeting away furiously, unconcerned about the enormous harm he is doing with his crazy, out of control behaviour.

Politicians are not necessarily responsible for the people who pledge loyalty to their cause, in much the same way as football clubs can't stop supporters from following their favourite team.

Unless, of course, said supporters step out of line, start behaving like hooligans, turn violent and threaten other people's safety, at which point those in positions of leadership have a duty to respond.

By any measure you care to use Donald Trump has failed this test of leadership because while he speaks of 'unifying' America he has a track record of goading and encouraging the worst instincts of his fan base.

The obvious example being his 'birther' campaign President Barack Obama which candidate Trump used to smear a Democrat President in a vile, racially motivated way.

The young child wearing a Ku Klux Klan suit is a symptom and a symbol of Trump's America.

Trump Encourages Lunatics (17/08/17)

Alex Jones is a full-blown, completely unhinged, all-American conspiracy theorist who runs his own 'Infowars' internet TV programme.

Alex's latest lunatic claim is that Jewish actors posed as white supremacists and KKK supporters during the recent violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, where a young woman protester was murdered by one of these far-right Nazi sympathisers.

So it will come as no surprise to learn that Donald Trump appeared on this lunatic's radio programme back in December 2015 - live from Trump Tower in New York.

By their friends shall ye know them, as the 'Good Book' says.

Trump Fans  (18/11/16)

I couldn't  watch all of this YouTube video which features Alex Jones, who is a Trump supporter and infamous conspiracy theorist with his own radio programme.

Apparently, Mr Jones believes that Hillary Clinton is an 'avatar' of Satan, that the Sandy Hook massacre was a fake staged by actors and that the government puts chemical sin the water supply to make American citizens gay.

Alex has also claimed that Donald Trump phoned recently to thank him personally for getting elected, claiming the President elect said:

“He said, ‘Listen Alex, I just talked to the kings and the queens of the world. I want to thank you, your audience.”

Trump Supporters (16/11/16)

The Washington Post reports on the ugly behaviour of two public officials in West Virginian who mocked Michelle Obama, America's First Lady, as "a Ape in heels."

Pamela Ramsey Taylor, a director of Clay County development corporation posted the following comment on Facebook after Donald Trump's election as president, ushering in Michelle Obama's replacement as First Lady by Melania Trump:

"It will be so refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady back in the White House", before adding:

"I'm tired of seeing a Ape in heels."

The local mayor Beverly Whaling is then reported as replying with the words:

"Just made my day Pam."

"What the fuck's wrong with these people?" is the question any reasonable person is bound to ask and, of course, Team Trump bears some responsibility given the hateful tone of the recent election campaign.

Read the full story in via the link below to The Washington Post, but as usual having been caught red-handed the two individuals involved deny their behaviour was racist.
