The Hissing of Labour Bams

Labour's deputy leader Tom Watson rode to the party's rescue yesterday when he took to Twitter to condemn the behaviour of Labour 'bampots' who hissed at the BBC's Laura Kuenssberg as she was invited to ask Jeremy Corbyn a question about an important speech on Europe.

I feel embarrassed that was hissed in the course of doing her job today. It was rude and inappropriate.

The Labour leader was forced to 'shush' his audience, after some initial hesitation, but it was left to his deputy Tom Watson to apologise properly for the boorish behaviour of some of the Labour activists in the room.

The latest incident comes hot on the heels of a petition calling on Laura Kuenssberg to be sacked from her job at the BBC for being overly critical of the new Labour leadership although, to be fair, the petition was subsequently withdrawn for being misogynistic and sexist.

But fair play to Tom Watson for confronting the 'bams' in Labour's ranks and saying what needed to be said.
