Blues and Boos

Every football club has a fanatical, somewhat OTT (Over The Top) element amongst its supporters - who are always extremely noisy, self-appointed and very opinionated.

But so what? Because while they don't run their clubs they do pay their money week in and week out - and are entitled to their views - so long as things don't turn violent or otherwise get out of hand.

Now the 'boo boys' at Chelsea Football Club may be falling into the latter category - of things getting well out of hand .

Because they are locked in a nasty feud with the club's manager - Rafael Benitez - and from the very first day he was appointed - this small but vocal group of fans have been calling for Benitez to be summarily sacked.

Quite what this is all about is beyond most people - although the 'boo boys' appear to be championing the cause of the club's 'old guard' of players - such as the delightful, former England captain - John Terry.

A nicer chap you could hardly meet - of course - just ask his team mates or the English Football Association's Disciplinary Panel.

So even when Chelsea are winning a game with Rafael Benitez in charge - he still gets barracked and booed while his team are on the field of play.

First class idiots, all of them, to my mind - since the real problem with Chelsea Football Club lies with its Russian billionnaire owner - Roman Abramovich - who must have hired and fired the best part of ten managers over the past ten years.

Including Roberto di Matteo who won the Champions League for Chelsea in 20011/12 - and  Andre Villas Boas whose Tottenham Hotspur team now lie third - above Chelsea - in the English Premier League.

Now if all these London 'barrow boy' types turned their ire on the club's Russian owner - they would be onto something - a demand for some continuity and stability at the club, for example.

But as things stand they're just hurting the very team - that they claim to support.
