More Money Than Sense

The Russian oligarch and Chelsea owner - Roman Abramovich - must have much more money than common sense.

Less than a year after appointing yet another a new Chelsea manager - Andre Villas-Boas - the young Portuguese has been sacked and shown the door.

So now Chelsea are looking for its eighth manager in nine years - which says more about the owner than it does about any of his first team coaches - who have all come from highly successful backgrounds.

In fact Roman Abramovich is the one with a terrible track record.

Despite money being no object hee seems completely unable to pick a winner - or to leave a manager in charge long enough - to come up with a winning formula for the longer term.

So despite his great wealth ever since Roman Abramovich got shot of another Portuguese manager - Jose Mourinho - the Russian has been unable to fill the special one's boots.

I wonder if it's ever occurred to the Chelsea owner - that maybe he's the one that should move on.

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
